- Music Opera. Programmes and bookings for concerts and
operas around the world.
- Opera Houses of the World.
I can't vouch for this site, but it certainly sounds interesting.
- Orchestra Net.
This is an interesting site which, in addition to links to UK and World orchestras, also contains useful
jumping-off points to other musical information.
- Classical Music UK.
A site with a wide range of useful information. It describes itself as being about 'Classical music news,
links, videos, CDs, Concerts and Jobs.' A fascinating part of the site is
this remarkable list of Web Rings,
including The Classical Music Web Ring, which links to over 1500 classical music web sites. Make sure you check out that very long pulldown menu in the Listings section!
- Classical Music Online
- All Classical Guide is the classical arm of the excellent All Music Guide.
Like its parent site, it includes fascinating biographical material about composers and performers, as well as links for purchasing CDs.
- Opera Glass.
Looks like a promising site for opera buffs. As well as informarion about operas and composers, also contains libretti (some in translation),
plot synopses, discographies and so on.
- Travel for the Arts. A potentially useful site for our annual travel decisions?
- The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles opened its doors with a gala concert on 23rd October. This site
gives some fascinating information about this amazing new venue and includes a link to a well-stocked photo gallery.
- The new board of directors of The Lotte Lehmann Foundation convened their first meeting on 16 March 2004. This site should be visited by anyoine interested in the art of singing.
Click on Hear Lehmann Sing for some amazing samples of this great singer in action. Under no circumstances miss the Liebestod from 'Tristan und Isolde'.
And I find it extraordinary that they include the entire "Winterreise"!
- I've just found this amazing site devoted to texts used in Lieder, many choral works and other types of classical vocal pieces.
A remarkable resource for anyone interested.
